Russia...who is up for it??

Allright guys, Im not going on a Summer holiday this year...but I do have some time to kill.

Iv looke dinto Russia, and its not as much as you would expect.

You can do one show for £200 return from Heathrow. Its £214 to go Heathrow to Moscow, then fly back from St Petersburg to Heathrow. It costs about £65 to fly from Moscow to St Petersburg, although slow trains take you there for £19 (Im yet to see how long they take however).

On top of this, a tourist visa costs £30.

Hotels are available for around £25 per room. I know I love ramming as many people as we can into travelodges allover Britain and most of Europe, but Im not fucking with the Russians, I want to be waved off home and welcomed back next time.

When your there, a LITRE of vodka costs around £1.50. Food, Id imagine, is peanuts also.

My plan this summer is, possibly, to go to Moscow, back to London for RATM, up to Donington for Download and then home.


Anyone fancy a good fucking giggle with our Russian friends? Provided America doesnt fuck about while we'r there, safety shouldnt be too much of an issue.

Is Moscow first or second Kev? I'd want to go from there and then head straight to Leeds, if the Slam Dunk line-up is good.

Apart from that, if my SAAS money comes through, I can definitely afford this. If not, maybe.

Announcement was being made at the Slam Dunk clubnight at midnight, it'll be appearing on the internet pretty soon. Will edit post when I find out.

Looking less likely-rediculously hard to get a visa and the cost is spiralling. On a brighter note, me and coops are doing arped tour if anyones keen.

Is anyone still thinking of going to Russia?

Finally back on the forums after almost a year aha

The visa issue made itimpossible for me. I had flights lined up at under £150 for business class as well

Was it hard to get one then? Or were there other reasons for not being able to get one?

You need to download and fill in an application for a visa, and take it to a russian approved travel agent (call the russian visa fone number, google it), they will stamp it and no doubt charge you.

you then need to go to a Russian Visa centre- these are based at the embassy in London and Edinburgh, and they wil charge you at least £75, depending on the type.

It then takes at least 7 days, and if you are successful its added to your passport.

The people on the line barely speak english and the telephone number is £1 per minute.
Its as if they didnt want me in their country.

I dont think it makes a difference, they just make it extra difficult.
