Re: Modest Mouse
At the concert I went to, the first song they played was Never Ending Math Equation - best opening song they could have chosen. It was amazing! They also played Broke. But my favourite song on BNOOS is Other People's Lives.
Re: Modest Mouse
Yeah Broke is probably my favorite.
Along with NEME and Medication.
I would love to see them live mann.

Re: Modest Mouse
And I'm not just saying this because I love them but they are the best band I've seen live (and I mean like out of all the recorded live vids of other bands and what not.) They aren't as energetic as ES, but you can tell they put all of their heart into their performance. Isaac is crazy but great. Their best songs live are 3rd Planet, Never Ending Math Equation, Parting of the Sensory, Tiny Cities Made of Ashes (which they added about 4 minutes to of pure amazingness) and Paper Thin Walls. Once they started PTW, everyone started moving like crazy. It was the best night of my life.
Re: Modest Mouse
Oh, and here is their new video released earlier today for their new single 'Satellite Skin.' And this video is pretty weird, but it wouldn't be proper Modest Mouse if it wasn't. Sorry I couldn't embed it but you can watch it
HERE!!!
HERE!!!
Re: Modest Mouse
That is a cool video.
Very odd but i like it.
I like the song too

Re: Modest Mouse
Although I'm probably the only one who pays attention to this thread regularly, I figure I'll post their new song. This is their new song that will be the B-side of the 'Satellite Skin' single released later this month (I'm pretty sure 26th of May) exclusively on orange vinyl (only 4000 are being made.) The song is called 'Guilty Cocker Spaniels' and you can listen to it HERE!!!

Part 2 of Reasons to love Isaac Brock.
Alright, if you are a MM fan, chances are you've heard someone complain about how the new stuff sucks and the old stuff was best. Well, this guy complained about it at a concert. Within hearing distance of Isaac. And he is not someone you want to cross. To set up the clip, they just finished playing the song 'Dramamine' which is the first track on their first album released 1996. Just some useful background info.
I laughed SOOOOOOOOOOO hard when I first saw this. It makes me very very very happy. And if you are wondering, the song they begin to play at the end is 'Wild Pack of Family Dogs.'

Re: Modest Mouse
Well seeing as this is pretty much the most popular thread I will update it once again. New MM single "Autumn Beds" will be released on June 23rd. It can be heard HERE!!! and it's B-side, The Whale Song, can be heard HERE!!!.
Now personally, I don't care for how they're making Isaac's vocals really loud now compared to the instruments. But still, Autumn Beds is really good but The Whale Song. HOLY FUCK. Fucking whale sounds with the guitar. The best MM song in a long long long long time. Very The Moon & Antarctica-ish. And they don't do the vocal thing with this one
Basically, it's amazing. Must have a listen.

Re: Modest Mouse
Well, I would recommend:
3rd Planet
Gravity Ride Everything
Life Like Weeds
Spitting Venom
Ocean Breathes Salty
Dramamine
The Whale Song
Cowboy Dan
Teeth Like God's Shoeshine
Doin' the Cockroach
Missed the Boat
Little Motel
Night on the Sun
Dirty Fingernails
These ought to show you the best of MM while also displaying their wide variaty of sounds and styles. But then again, all of their songs are amazing.
Glad to hear that you like them!

Re: Modest Mouse
The new single "Perpetual Motion Machine" will be out July 21st. You can listen to it HERE!!! It features the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. It is a very snazzy jazzy tune. Probably my least favourite song off the new EP however.
Re: Modest Mouse
The B-side to their new single "Perpetual Motion Machine" is out now and can be heard HERE!!!. It's called "History Sticks To Your Feet" and it is amazing!!! Buy it on iTunes July 21st!!!! DO IT!!!!!!
Re: Modest Mouse
Video for King Rat. This can be seen by you UK folk. I really recommend checking it out, if not for the song, for the message of the video.
Re: Modest Mouse
i really dislike this band. mainly due to me hating indie but also to overplay by a certain brother
