I know alot of people who's PS3's have broke.
Free online play but it's shit compared to Xbox's. Xbox has alot of extra content PS3 doesn't get.
Xbox is being updated with Twitter, Facebook etc.

Of course. But the 360 has a 35% rate of breaking down. Which is pretty shocking.

PSN isn't that shit anymore. Not as good as Live fair enough, but that's what you pay your money for.

TBh the twitter, facebook update is not really groundbreaking. It's something I generally wouldn't want to do on a console. That's what a computer/laptop is for.

I agree with the twitter, facebook thing. I buy a games console to play games on not go on the net or that I was just pointing it out since you said people use PS3 for more things than playing games

I have a PS3. Like Pete said 360's are fucking awful for breaking down, overheat because the heatsink inside it is rubbish. Live is better than PSN but marginally... alot of annoying little yanks on there, but then again PSN is full of angry germans. PS3 is better for watching movies definately, and as a media centre. DVD quality and Blu-Ray quality is insanely good. I prefer 360's controls though.. but in terms of the way it fits in your hand, not the buttons. PC all the way though..

I've only got a 360 because I'm an impulse eBayer. Getting myself a PS3 for Christmas.
PlayStation wins but.

Xbox 360 for me. Biggest reason: the games. With franchises like Halo, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Fable etc. it just wins imo. Now yes, it breaks like a motherfucker. I've heard it has a 54% fail rate rather than the 35% Pete mentioned. And yes, the "live" of PS3 is free, but I think Live is better so I'm fine with paying $50 for a year. But it's the games really for me. IF I did get a PS3 I would get Killzone 2 (loved the first), Resistance 1&2, Uncharted 2........thats all that comes to mind atm.

I agree that the 360 does have better exclusives (although Halo is extremely over-hyped IMO) there are loads of non-exclusives to get by on.

Although whenever Gran Turismo 5 decides to turn up, that will make the PS3.

I have a PS3 and love it. I've had 3 360's (every one managed to crap-out on me) and I miss Banjo & Kazooie, both the XBLA HD remake of the N64 original and Nuts & Bolts. Oh and Crackdown. Otherwise, I don't really care for any other game the 360 has to offer. Halo and Gears of War are really over-hyped in my opinion. Live is the better service though, PSN is pretty wank in comparison.

Gran Turismo 5, God of War III, MAG and Heavy Rain all on the horizon too...

But If they ever remake final fantasy 7, ps3 will be the best.

Halo is shit.

For a long time xbox was much cheaper which is the reason all my friends bought it, and I bought it because all my friends have it and online play is much more fun when you know the people you're playing with. I think a lot more people probably own an xbox for the price reason but PS3 has come cheaper recently iirc?

Anyway I think they're pretty evenly matched, both have good hd support and largely speaking most games are available on both. There's a few exclusive games either way but I don't think you can go wrong with either. The Blu-Ray player on the PS3 might be a nice extra feature, I already have one of those so it wasn't really a selling point for me.

I like that Wii isn't even an option here, it's so far behind in standard it's a joke, and I used to be a big Nintendo fan.

The Wii could have been quality. But most of the games on it are really crap and cheesy. The only game I properlly played on the Wii was Resi 4.

i don't have either but i will say ps3 coz when i go to my mates house and we end up playing really random games the ones we play on ps3 i seem to win more often than on x box
