Does it come up with a window when you plug in your iPhone asking you to scrobble?
The Last.fm app doesn't scrobble at all, it's just a radio app.

You should have 2 buttons at the bottom of the window, one scrobble, one cancel. You know what to click.

When you plug your iphone in wait til its synced on itunes, then open lastfm click on help > diagostics > ipod scrobbling > scrobble ipod.
