Re: Arguing With Thermometers
have to say that i was expecting something slightly better. the dub drop doesnt seem enforced enough.
Sick vocals though. Stoked to hear the rest.

Re: Arguing With Thermometers
I'm in love. Definitely surpassed my expectations. Can't wait to hear it on my big speaker set tomorrow!
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
Needs some listen to ween my ears off the bbc session. There's parts in that sound a bit more fluid at the moment. Chorus sound BIG though.
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
I'm just picturing some really crunchy saxophone during the "That's the sound of another door shutting in" parts. Sounds so fitting.

Exact opposite to how I felt hahaha. Was really digging the dub drop but thought Rou's vocals weren't as powerful as he does them live. After a few more listens thought i'm really digging them now though.

I think the inwards he was doing live sounded stronger, but inwards can easily be over done.
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
I thought it was incredible. The studio version is so much better than I thought it would be actually, I thought it was just going to sound like a cleaner version of the live session. Cannot fucking wait for the rest of the album now.
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
First listen I wasn't too keen on whatever compression was put on Rou's vocals. Although there's obvious dynamics to his vocals it doesn't come out well in the mix imo (if you get what I mean).
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
Judging by the look of the video I hope it involves an interview with Lee or something in that kind of news fashion, would be jokes!
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
I kinda hate when bands release demos/live versions, you get kinda used to that version and cant help but compare it (normally always goes away). anyways, I love how the verses came out, much more upbeat then the bbc version. the chorus im not quite sure about yet. I was hoping for the bass to be ridiculous, but it sounds rather toned down.. slightly disapointed by that. Although, youtube at 720p still isnt amazing, maybe the acutal cd will have a bit more

When the 320s come out played through decent headphones or speakers I think it will come to life.

Listened to on my studio headphones. They sub-bass is VERY low. Probably why it sound weak on standard speakers or ipod headphones.

its not so much the sub, just the bass sounded much more punchy and prominent in the bbc version. seems a little more in the background in the studio version

Re: Arguing With Thermometers
Maybe this is just a low quality upload of the track so that youtube rips wont be as good. I can't help but think this song is overly compressed compared to say the official release of Sssnakepit
Think the quality will be much better on CD

2:20 - 2:45 is so ridiculous. Listen into the left channel. Who hears a "fuck youuuu" right when it hits?
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
I don't think there is anything wrong with the bass. I just think the bass isn't "dirty" enough to your dubstep standards. I think it would sound much worse with a strong overpowering bassline.
Re: Arguing With Thermometers
Welp, it's better than 96kbs.

I think all of that in the left channel is the massive swearing session Warner and the rest of the gang vocal crew did. Think they said they were moshing about in the vocal booth just shouting every swear word under the sun LOL
