Can't wait for Strokes.
First dancing like a prick to Crystal Castles then massive sing alongs to Strokes, s'gonna be quality.

Re: Leeds/Reading Festivals 2011
Got my priorities sorted and bought a Sunday ticket for Reading, with the possibly of swapping it for a weekend ticket in the future. £95.45 for one day seems an insane amount.

No doubt I'll spend my day getting drunk, stoned and wetting myself again :/

Never a bad way to be at a festival

I already got tickets to DFA though this summer so i'm really not fussed about missing Reading this year. Such a bad line up, definitely considering T now.
And early entry tickets always go on sale a few weeks before Reading/Leeds too.
thought itd be reyt up your street, a ball load of indie
Haha, it is, sorta. I thought it was an awful line up cause of how.. well standard it is. I've already seen most of the bands that I like, theres only like 4/5 I haven't seen, that I like. And I don't really think £200 to see the same bands again is such a good idea. I need to try something new! Like T! Orrrr Coachella, I really wanna see Kanye West..
Re: Leeds/Reading Festivals 2011
Holy crap, you guys pay £200 to go to these festivals?

Re: Leeds/Reading Festivals 2011
Yepppp, UK festivals are expensiveeeee.
Where as you an buy a weekend ticket for Benicassim in Spain for £125, which includes 4 days of music and an extra 4 days of camping if you want them. Ok you have to get there and back but you an get flights to Spain pretty cheap. Plus you get sun.
Not fair.

Re: Leeds/Reading Festivals 2011
You can get to Spain and back for half a fest ticket! Oh the shame! Also buys 40 malaria nets ooooooo
Re: Leeds/Reading Festivals 2011
I know a guy who is going this year, he said he is all in for about £350ish once he has paid for flights & transfers etc. Plus I think they sell cheap booze on the site unlike readings £4 a pint rip off prices.
The heat would be pretty intense but apparently the music doesn't start until night, so you just party all night then sleep in the day.
Very tempted to look into it next year, I haven't been abroad in years.

Re: Leeds/Reading Festivals 2011
I don't really live in a town where we have festivals. The biggest thing we have is a summerfest (3days) and I think its about 75$ for the weekend.
Then again, we don't usually have big bands here either. Thats probably the reason why the tickets for your festivals cost so much.

Didn't get a ticket as I am SKINT, but I do want to go. Signed up to work there with a couple of the girls in my flat... Still can't say fo sho if it'll happen as I haven't got the deposit money but whatever.
First time in 3 years I don't have a ticket. I for one love the line-up... And I'd rather go as a punter than a worker purely for the Thursday day/night banter.

It would be impossible to sleep in atent in the heat of Spain, its hard enough trying it in Scotland during the day.
When i went to Rock am Ring (Germany) in 05 and 08, both times my tickets, flights and a taxi from the airport to the site and back (split 3 ways) came to less than what a standard UK ticket would be. We were also allowed to take up to 1litre of liquids 9ie vodka) into the arena, however beer prices inside were slightly more, but I only had the one or two with a meal to be honest.

My first thought when I saw the line up. Happy for ES on the main stage though

Who?
Re: Leeds/Reading Festivals 2011
Its a weak line up compared to previous years, however there are still quite a few bands I like playing, Strokes, Offspring, The Joy Formidable, Cage the Elephant, Muse, DFA 1979, Frank Turner, Crystal Castles, Strokes, Strokes, STROKES! and ES of course.
Also muse have said this will be the last time they play alot of Origin of Symmetry stuff and that it is going to be a special one off (well technically two but you know what I mean) stage show.

Right, I've decided I want to buy a Leeds Friday day ticket. I'm guessing at the end of the day I have to leave and then make my way back home right?
