The UK tour in style
Ok guys, the UK tour is going to come sooner or later and while me and Nicola were talking we came up with the idea of doing the full UK tour in a tour bus
Who fancies it?
Who fancies it?

Not that we expect anyone to do the WHOLE tour, but the tour bus could do the whole tour and potentially people could do a few days here and there.
And yes, we do know this is a crazy idea!
and probs won't happen

Like renting a bus, or having a hypothetical tour bus where everyone goes together on trains, coaches and so forth?

The actual idea was renting a bus.

I'd be game, it's most likely i'll be 18 by then so i'd be more than happy to bring some money and a few crates to support the cause
Re: The UK tour in style
I guess I'd do a few dates, but this actually happening is pretty minimal IMO.
Re: The UK tour in style
Yer, it was a jokey conversation. Would be well fun though

You could always hire a minibus instead, and cram everyone into a travelodge - similar sense of travelling together but loads cheaper, with the added bonus of a toilet you can do a poo in overnight!

Re: The UK tour in style
That would be fun too I guess. But then may as well just get a few people in cars and save the money.
Don't encourage anyone to do anything in travelodges. Its bad enough with piss on the floor, puke and who knows what else

Haha i as just making sure befoe we got all excited. A splitter van would cost about £50 a day so Id except a minibus to be about the ame, plus petrl. Not sure what would wrk out ceaper between tha and travel.
Re: The UK tour in style
Looking at thestate we leave travelodge's in is letting us share a van a good ideas?

And how much would it cost to realisticly do this?
Getting tickets to several dates + plus hiring a van + petrol + booze money.
And the fact I would like at least 10 metres sq of space if I'm spending any length of time with Kev.

Im not sure on the mini bus, as drivers will need to have a special licence of some sort.
Tickets will be 20 quid each no doubt, so thats at least 200 quid for 10 dates, beer again probably 10-20 quid a date.
so probably looking at about 600 quid for a ten date tour.

Seeing as I have rent to pay, it's a bit much. I do play on trying for 6 or 7 this time round. Main priority = Glasgow.
Re: The UK tour in style
You can of course do things cheaper.
I go to watch Liverpool play away a lot, when looking at how much it will cost me I look at what I actually deffo have to pay EG tickets, some routes of travel.
But then I look at where I can get away with 10-15 quid all the time, but stopping at a stop earlier on the train and bunking the local lines into a stop of reasonable walking distance.
If we plan it well as a group we will be able to book like a hotel room each and then share rooms, which will save us a fortune.

I'd be down for the hotel room thing, I'm sure I could find a couple mates who want to chip in too, haven't spoke to anyone on here in person so would be nice to meet you guys
Re: The UK tour in style
Petrol costs so much these days, should share lifts. Would make it cheaper for all involved.

I may be able to drive by then, depends on how many times it takes me to do my driving test so i'd be down
Re: The UK tour in style
We have plenty of time, but lift sharing is the way forward

Just hope some cataclysmic event such as 1 inch of snow doesn't occur sending the whole UK road system into a mess and making a 20min journey 8 hours!
