Album Reccomendations
Anyone fancy reccomending me some albums? I'm fairly open minded to genre etc. however no mass produced, top 40,autotuned shit please
Re: Album Reccomendations
This is a really good idea. I'll share a few ideas. I listen to pretty much everything, so it'll be a pretty diverse mix of music.

From left-to-tight; descending row-by-row:
1) Blink 182 - Take Off Your Pants And Jacket
2) Skream - Outside The Box
3) Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs
4) Jose Gonzalez - Veneer
5) The xx - the xx
6) letlive. - Fake History
7) Royksopp - Melody A.M.
8 ) Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager
9) Alexisonfire - Old Crows/Young Cardinals
10) The Wonder Years - The Upsides
11) Band of Skulls - Baby Darling Doll Face Honey
12) Wu Tang Clan - Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers)
13) Jose Gonzalez - In Our Nature
14) Mumford and Sons - Sigh No More
15) N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton
16) Kings of Leon - Because Of The Times
17) Four Year Strong - Enemy Of The World
18) City & Colour - Sometimes
19) A Loss For Words - Motown Classics
20) Every Time I Die - The Big Dirty
21) Flight of The Conchords - Flight of The Conchords
22) Blink 182 - Blink 182
23) DJ Fresh - Kryptonite
24) Alexisonfire - Crisis
25) Chase & Status - More Than Alot
26) Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
27) City & Colour - Bring Me Your Love
28) Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions
29) The Swellers - Ups and Downsizing
30) Death Cab For Cutie - Plans
31) Four Year Strong - Rise Or Die Trying
32) Dr. Dre - 2001
33) Architects - Hollow Crown
34) Cream Trance Anthems Ibiza 2009 - Various Artists (I hate compilations as much as anyone but this is a particularly good mix, and loads of Trance artists don't even put out full albums, just white labels/EPs)
35) Every Time I Die - New Junk Aesthetic
36) Notorious B.I.G - Greatest Hits (Again, an compilation...I'd recommend 'Ready to Die' more, but this is a good start if you're first checking him out)
There are TONS more artists everyone should check out - the obvious ones, like Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley - but there's a shit load of albums there I feel are easy to jump into (especially bearing in mind bands like LZ etc. usually have shit loads of albums, it doesn't really do 'em justice picking one album out of all their awesome ones)
Oh that grid is missing Bloc Party too - 'Silent Alarm' is a classic.
(Fucking long post, I know)

Might I say that almost ALL music produced this decade is auto-tuned. Just to let you know.

I like SOME auto-tuned music...but only when it's blatantly auto-tuned for effect, like Daft Punk or Kanye West's last album. When it's used to change the pitch (aka disguise not-very-good voices), I wanna punch a blind baby straight in the teeth and piss on a dying cat.

I think some people don't realise that auto-tune is also a mixing tool as well. As a mixing tool, it's like reverb, when you have too much of it on a track you begin to get suspicious about the recording. E.g. Someone like Dallas Green, you can't really hear it even though it's there. That's what I find acceptable. It's bands like Metro Station and Owl City where they try to pass heavily auto-tuned voices as proper singing and I cannot stand it. When it's done as effect, it can sound quite nice.
Re: Album Reccomendations
I like autotune as effect but not out of neccesity, I have autotune vst but I use it to experiment with music, not because i'm a sell-out who prefers money to the enjoyment of making music
Re: Album Reccomendations
Oh and also if you need some music to chillax to:

Best ambient music album out there, highly recommended!

You missed the best Xcerts, Swellers, Gaslight Anthem, Brand New and Arcade Fire albums. Won't argue with anything else.

Got some FYS already, liked them for a while, downloaded quite a few of the albums on your list actually, I approve of your music taste
Re: Album Reccomendations
Pretty tired so not gonna do a list but I'm listening to this before bed and it's an album everyone should hear once.

Oh and Black Sabbath's first 3 albums are essential listening in my mind (although I've been obsessed with all the Ozzy era albums since i was like 8 or 9 haha), as are all 5 Simon & Garfunkel albums
