Yeah, most swear words are found all over canada. It's when you get to the proper french. Things that mean disgusting to us mean amazing to them. It gets really confusing.

I'm learning spanish right now, only been doing it for 5 weeks, so it's pretty basic.
I did german GCSE and got a B, but can't remember any of it now.
And in arabic i know: hello, yes, no, thank you, if god will's it and let's go.

I'm quite impressed with myself that I understood that, despite not studying languages in ten years, but then I did get A*s at GCSE in French and Spanish as well on account of being a massive geek.
