Interested to hear more about how it would all work. Sounds like a good idea to get rid of touts, but not having a ticket from each show will be sad lol.

Very good in pronciple, but how will it work in case of genuine ticket exchanges, or someone buying tickets for their friends, or just to give away at random?

No idea for a ticket exchange, but the guys doing the tickets for The King Blues Colchester gig have used E-Tickets, They give you a unique code when you buy the ticket and you just have to take that and a copy of photo ID with you to get in, if you buy multiple tickets for friends. In my case I just get a plus one for my friend to come in.

I like the idea as it cuts out some silly postage charges ticket companies charge, but I am a massive ticket collector. Every gig, football game(not now with my season ticket) I go to I keep the tickets.

E-Tickets were annoying when ES used them.
I think it would be a funky bit of memorabilia, but I do like having tickets. I agree it'd probably help with ticket touts, but what Clive said about ticket exchanges could be problematic - interesting to see how they'd work that out.

I just come up with an idea. It will open a money printing scheme for the promoters. They can print tickets as memorabilia, and charge the ticket price again for it.

Like what they did for the MJ tickets.

Not something I would do, but People did it for the MJ tickets. So their is a market for it.

And MJ fans are pretty extreme.

I was in the o2 when the MJ convention was going on. Straaaaange stuff.

Going off topic a bit, Im not happy a music legend has died, but Glad that I didn't have to sit through 2 hours of him for my mum and aunty.

If it stops touts, and it means I can buy beer without having to carry my wallet or as I always do, keep money in my socks, Im all for it, even though I like collecting tickets. perhaps personalised wristbands are a way round this. (once the cashless chip is trialled and rolled out fully)

As for people selling on tickets, if you cant go, tough, basically. You buy a ticket on the premise of "I am buying as I can go, and anything thta happens herin is my responsibility" at present.

For buying you and your mates tickets, the way round this is every one has to go in together.

As for giving them away randomly, thats a tough one I guess.

I've got mine from the last two Leeds Festivals, you email Festival Republic and then they post a stub to you for free.

Kind of similar to Glasto, where you have to register. Anything to stop touts, is good in my opinion.
